The Bathroom is Finished!…At Least for Now

These last couple weeks have been pretty crazy for the two of us, so we’re gonna have to play a little catch up. Up until recently we only had a shower liner and no rug or anything in our bathroom. But we found this beautiful shower curtain at World Market…our new favorite store. They’ve got beautiful furniture and household stuff and like all kinds of different food and candies and beer and wine…and the idea is that it’s all supposed to be from different countries. We also got a matching rug. So at this point we’re thinking our bathroom is basically done minus a few odds and ends. We still want drapes for the window and something to hang our towels on...that'll come.

Projects or Bust

Ok we finally are ready to put some pictures up. They show a bit of what our place looks like and some of the projects we've done so far.

We decided to use pegboard to provide both much needed storage and a nice display for our pots and pans and some other kitchen tools. So we went to The Home Depot and bought a 2' x 4' pegboard and some green spray paint. The next day we had it all mounted and its been the perfect solution. Total cost: Only $13

Needless to say, we've had storage issues in our tiny kitchen. Thanks to our wedding we have seemingly every kitchen device imaginable. We picked up this little cart from the The Container Store that really holds a lot of stuff and makes good use of the extra space beside the fridge.

We needed more storage in our bathroom too, so we picked up this Bathroom Organizer from Walmart which fit our budget perfectly. Of course it was assembly required, but it didn't take too long. It can hold a ton of junk and it looks pretty good.

This is our bedroom, or at least part of it. We set up the bed and the hung the picture, Souvenir de Mortefontaine by Corot, which is a favorite of Meg's. This shot is rounded out by Fuzzy, my childhood bear with whom I have been recently reunited.

Improvements

So since our last post Keith and I have been super busy putting our new home together. It still needs a lot of work, but I believe it is coming along very nicely. We have our kitchen all dolled up (because of course we have everything you could want in a kitchen) as well as our room, now just to get to our living room. We don't have cable or internet at the moment, so our new and exciting desire to start and pay much attention to this blog has been hard. Today we had our family over for some food, which was so nice. Late last night Keith and I made some homemade Pear Jam! So good. All it took was a few pears, water, sugar, and some orange juice and we were able to make some delicious stuff.

We are still currently trying to find my adapter for my camera, but I promise when we do we will put up some photos!

Our New Place!

So we're a bit late in starting this up. We moved in almost a week ago, but we've been so busy that we haven't been able to start writing until now. So, just some background...We left our old place in Grove City, PA last Tuesday. I drove the moving truck and Meg drove our car. She did fantastic driving 12 hours in two days...by far the most she's ever driven. Anyways, after staying Tuesday night in Wytheville, VA, we arrived in Atlanta Wednesday afternoon and signed our lease and got our place. We got all of our stuff moved in with the help of Meg's family, but we had no heat or electricity. We finally got the electricity turned on yesterday, but we're still waiting until Thursday for the gas to be turned on.

So basically we now live in a SWEET apartment in the city with hardwood floors. Keith and I instantly fell in love with this place when we saw it for the first time. There were other places we went to look at but none could compare. So far we have been trying to orginize the place and clean it up. We have bought space savers, peg board, and our first hammer!! It is coming along very well and I can't wait to put up some photos. Anyways, I think by tomorrow everything should have it's own place and there should be order. Now all we need is some hot water and the heat to be turned on.. cause we are cold.

Well, this is all just the beginning of our adventures at our new place. Tomorrow will be a good day!
